Acclimatization

Proper adaptation is vital. The itinerary includes dedicated rest and acclimatization days in Simikot (2,910 m) and Taklakot (3,775 m) to prepare for higher altitudes.

Ama Dablam Mountain Trek - 22 Days Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, expedition briefing, and preparation for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding (2,652 m)

Scenic flight to Lukla Airport followed by a trek through beautiful trails to Phakding along the Dudh Kosi River.

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Trek through the Dudh Kosi Valley, crossing suspension bridges and entering Sagarmatha National Park to reach Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Rest and acclimatization with short hikes to nearby viewpoints for better altitude adaptation.

Day 5: Trek to Pangboche (3,930 m)

Continue trek into the upper Khumbu region with stunning mountain views and Sherpa culture.

Day 6: Trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,600 m)

Reach base camp of Ama Dablam and set up camp for the expedition.

Day 7: Base Camp – Puja Ceremony & Preparation (4,600 m)

Participate in traditional Puja ceremony and prepare technical gear for the climb.

Day 8–11: Rotation 1 (Up to 5,900 m)

Load ferry and route familiarization to Camp 1 and Camp 2; practice climbing techniques and acclimatization.

Day 12–13: Rest at Base Camp (4,600 m)

Recovery period to regain strength and prepare for the summit push.

Day 14: Move to Camp 1 (5,700 m)

Climb to Camp 1, beginning the summit push phase.

Day 15: Move to Camp 2 (5,900 m)

Technical climb including the famous Yellow Tower section.

Day 16: Move to Camp 3 (6,300 m)

Climb along the exposed Mushroom Ridge to reach Camp 3.

Day 17: Summit Day (6,812 m)

Early summit push to the top of Ama Dablam followed by descent back to Camp 2.

Day 18: Descend to Base Camp (4,600 m)

Full descent to base camp after successful summit.

Day 19: Base Camp Cleaning (4,600 m)

Mandatory environmental clean-up activity as per expedition guidelines.

Day 20: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Return trek down to Namche Bazaar.

Final trekking day back to Lukla.
